- Fairmount Historical Museum (203 East Washington Street - Fairmount, Indiana) Within the museum is The James Dean Room which pays tribute to Fairmount's most famous citizen. Visitors can view assorted memorabilia such as Dean's high school trophies, his motorcycle, bongo drums, original artwork, rare photographs and countless other donations to the museum. Open daily Mar-Nov, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m, Sundays 12 noon - 5 p.m. $1 admission. (1975)
- The James Dean Memorial Gallery (425 North Main Street - Fairmount, Indiana) The gallery, housed in a restored Victorian style house, contains the world's largest collection of Dean Memoribilia and archives. The exhibit is the private collection of James Dean archivist David Loehr. Among the items on display are clothes worn by Dean and original movie posters. A screening room shows a 30 minute video of rare television appearances and screen tests. Open daily, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. $3.75 admission; free for children under 10. (Opened: Sept 22, 1988)
- The Lawrence Hutton Hall Of Fame (Princeton University) The hall houses memorials to the "The Immortals of Art". A life mask of James Dean is on display as well as monuments to Ludwig Von Beethoven, Edwin Booth, John Keats, and William Thacheray. James Dean is the youngest artist
honored. (1956)
- Hollywood Walk of Fame (1717 Vine Street, Hollywood, California) - a bronze star honoring James Dean (1960)
- James Dean Memorial - (East of Paso Robles on Highway 46 Paso Robles, Cholame, California). This $50,000 monument was dedicated on the twenty-second anniversary of Jimmy's death by Japanese businessman Seito Ohnishi to commemorate where Dean was killed in an auto accident. The stainless steel monument surrounds a tree outside in front of the Cholame Post Office and mirrors the intersection in the road where Dean's death occured. The memorial draws thousands of visitors annually. (Sept 30, 1977)
- James Dean Birthsite (Corner of Fourth and McClure Streets in Marion, Indiana) A stone with a plaque and a bronze star in the sidewalk commemorate the site where the Seven Gables Aptartments once stood. It was in this house that James Dean was born at 2 am on Feb 8, 1931. (Sept 30, 1980)
- Griffith Park Observatory (Los Angeles, California) A bronze bust created by Kenneth Kendall is on display on the observatory's front lawn. Griffith Park Observatory served as much of the location in REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. (Nov 1, 1988)
- James Dean Memorial Park (Corner of Second and Main Street in Fairmount, Indiana) The park displays a monument and bronze bust identical to the one at Griffith Park. This bronze bust replaces the one which use to reside at Park Cemetary. (Sept 30, 1995)
- The James Dean Memorial Rod Run (Fairmount, Indiana) This car show was begun by James Dean fan Fred Stocker and has since become an annual event. (1961)
- The James Dean Memorial Run (Van Nuys, California) An annual event in which James Dean fans with vintage cars follows the route that Dean drove on the day of his death. The rally occurs on the last weekend of September. (1978)
- Fairmount's Festival Days (Fairmount, Indiana) On the twenty-fifth anniversary of James Dean's death, his hometown of Fairmount held a four day festival to honor him. It has since been an annual event attracting fans from all over the world. (Sept 30, 1980)
- The James Dean Walking Tour of New York Hangouts (New York City) Every Summer since 1983, David Loehr, the "dean of Deanabilia" conducts a six-hour tour of Dean's favorite New York haunts. (1983)
